SAIC MAXUS Deliver 7

2026-09-23 10:40:01

Model Overview

The SAIC MAXUS Deliver 7 is a medium-sized new energy commercial van developed for the global market. In China, its equivalent model is badged as the Xintu V70.

As a cornerstone of SAIC MAXUS's "eDELIVER" all-electric commercial van range, the Deliver 7 made its official debut at the 2024 IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany, positioned strategically to bridge the gap between the compact eDeliver 3 and the full-sized eDeliver 9. To cater to diverse market requirements, the range was initially launched as the fully electric eDeliver 7, followed by a 2.0T turbodiesel variant in 2025. This dual-track "EV + Diesel" product strategy allows it to target the core mid-size van segment with precision.

In terms of dimensions, the eDeliver 7 is offered in two body configurations: L1 (standard wheelbase) and L2 (long wheelbase). The long-wheelbase variant measures 5,372 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and rides on a 3,366 mm wheelbase, complete with several roof height options. The standard-wheelbase variant spans roughly 5,000 mm with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Sized directly against key rivals such as the Volkswagen Transporter and Ford Transit Custom, it serves as a crucial strategic model for SAIC MAXUS to go head-to-head with established European contenders in global commercial vehicle markets.

Design Language

Co-developed in close collaboration with Iveco, the exterior styling of the Deliver 7 is sleek, contemporary, and sophisticated. The front fascia features high-tech gradient LED headlamps, complemented by vertical fog lamps integrated into the front bumper for a distinctive visual signature. Its overall silhouette mirrors the Ford Transit Custom, featuring oversized wing mirrors that extend outwards to optimise rearward visibility. Inside, the cabin adopts cues from the updated Deliver 9, showcasing robust build quality, an eco-leather-wrapped dashboard, and a dual passenger bench seat with a fold-down centre table. Key amenities include a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, automatic climate control, and a multifunction steering wheel. However, international reviews have highlighted a few shortcomings, notably the limited number of shallow cabin storage compartments and piano black trim pieces that are prone to scratching.

Powertrain and Performance

The Deliver 7 is available with two powertrain options: pure electric and turbodiesel.

The all-electric variant (eDeliver 7) features a front-mounted single motor in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration, delivering a maximum output of 150 kW (approximately 204 PS) and 330 Nm of peak torque. It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 11.4 to 11.9 seconds, with a top speed capped at 120 km/h. Buyers can choose between 77 kWh and 88 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, yielding a WLTP combined range of up to 370 km and up to 542 km in city driving conditions. Via 90 kW DC fast charging, a 20% to 80% state of charge (SoC) takes approximately 43 minutes.

The diesel variant is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine generating 110 kW (around 150 PS) and 375 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It does the 0-100 km/h run in around 21.7 seconds on to a top speed of 160 km/h. Its WLTC combined fuel consumption is rated at around 8.0 L/100 km, striking a fine balance between robust low-end torque and fuel efficiency.

Chassis and Handling

The chassis setup employs front MacPherson struts and a heavy-duty rear leaf spring non-independent suspension, effectively balancing front-axle ride comfort with high load-carrying capability at the rear. The entire range uses a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, complemented by an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and disc brakes all round (ventilated at the front, solid at the rear). Three selectable drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Power—allow drivers to tailor power delivery. With a tight turning radius ranging between 6.05 m and 6.7 m, the van remains remarkably manoeuvrable through congested urban environments and narrow alleys.

Cabin and Equipment

The cockpit is anchored by a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment display, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Standard equipment comprises a multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control with rear air vents, keyless push-start, automatic headlamp and rain sensors, heated wing mirrors, and a reverse camera.

In terms of seating, the 3-seater layout includes an 8-way adjustable driver's seat alongside a dual front passenger bench with fold-flat functionality. The cargo bay comes lined with durable rubber flooring, standard LED cargo lighting, a kerbside manual sliding door, and 180-degree rear barn doors, with an optional power-deployable side step available on selected trims. Cargo capacity ranges from 5.9 m³ to 8.7 m³ depending on the body length, supporting a maximum payload of 1,125 to 1,140 kg and a maximum braked towing capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 kg (diesel variant). That said, overseas user reviews have pointed out that cabin oddment storage is somewhat scarce, while the relatively high cargo floor and load height of under 1.33 m compromise day-to-day loading convenience.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The eDeliver 7 excels in safety, having secured a prestigious "Gold Rating" in the Euro NCAP 2024 commercial van safety assessments. Its Chinese-market sibling, the Xintu EV70, shares the identical high-strength crash structure and safety specification baseline. On the passive safety front, the body features a high-strength safety cell structure equipped with a standard driver's airbag and optional side curtain airbags, reinforced with hot-stamped ultra-high-strength steel in critical areas to protect occupants.

Its active safety and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) offer Level 2.5 semi-autonomous driving capability. Key features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC with Stop & Go), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB with vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist detection), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Driver Monitoring System (DMS), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. While some road tests noted that the LKA and speed recognition interventions can feel slightly intrusive, the eDeliver 7 indisputably sets a safety benchmark among mid-size electric commercial vans.

Market Performance and Reception

Thanks to its zero-emission powertrain, class-leading safety, generous cargo volume, and competitive pricing, the eDeliver 7 has successfully penetrated fleet logistics and municipal service sectors across mature European markets. In Continental Europe, the pure electric variant starts from around €44,990 net, with the diesel variant starting from around €29,990 net; in the UK market, pricing starts at roughly £28,137. From 2025 onwards, the van has gradually rolled out across Southeast Asian markets, expanding SAIC MAXUS's commercial EV presence in countries like Thailand.

Across international motoring circles, the eDeliver 7 has garnered strong praise from authoritative European media for its segment-topping safety kit, comprehensive active and passive driver aids, and value-packed pricing. Seamlessly blending electrification, intelligent connectivity, and top-tier safety, this Chinese electric van has proven to be a defining model in SAIC MAXUS's evolution from a domestic automaker into an established global brand.
